SiLution
SiLution is used to support diatom growth in systems where silica availability may be limiting. It is typically applied alongside Diatomix, not as a standalone algae treatment.
This product is best suited to recirculating systems, rainwater filled ponds, or advanced or professional water management applications, or where silica limitation has been identified.
SiLution is only available as a 17kg container, but it will not degrade; so for small ponds, you may use 1 kg per year and it will last a looong time.
Diatomix IV
Diatomix IV (eye vee) is an enhanced formulation for waterbodies that have a high level of recirculation, that are topped up with rain water, instead of bore water or town supply water.
This is because diatoms use silica as an important ingredient, and if there is insufficient silica in your water due to recirculation, excess nutrients needing to be removed, or rain water is used to top up the pond, then Diatomix IV is the best choice.
Diatomix IV is designed for sites where biological nutrient uptake may be limited by a lack of silica, and a stronger intervention is required to restore balance.
Diatomix Concentrate
Formulated for larger ponds, farm dams, lakes, and managed waterbodies with higher nutrient loads. This is the standard Diatomix solution for most waterbodies.
Choose Diatomix Concentrate if your waterbody is too large for Garden Pond Diatomix or if your pond experiences recurring algae, odours, or water quality decline.
Garden Pond Diatomix
Designed for small garden ponds, water features, and ornamental ponds. Ideal where water volume is low and dosing needs to be simple, safe, and affordable.
This product is best suited to ponds typically under 10 m², where the goal is clear, healthy water without chemicals or ongoing maintenance complexity.

How to Use & How Much?
We recommend for garden ponds up to 10 square metres (e.g. 5 metres long and 2 metres wide) put 7mL – yes only 1 large teaspoon of Diatomix, in your pond, three times a week. This is just $2.30 per week.
To ensure better coverage in your pond it is best to mix the recommended dose of Diatomix in a container with some pond water, then throw scoopfuls of this across your pond. Avoid getting it on top of any weeds as it needs to be in the pond water.
Remember that Diatomix is a specially formulated mix of Silica and 10 vital nutrients for Diatoms to grow and replicate so just like us they need regular (3 x per week) nourishment to survive.
